Headteacher Update 23.02.21

Headteachers Update 22nd February 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope this update finds you all safe and well! A rather wet and windy half term week but hopefully you managed to get some time outside. There are some definite signs that spring is on it’s way including some warmer temperatures and lighter evenings.

We are very pleased to be welcoming our Foundation Phase children back during this week! Hopefully with the data continuing to improve we will be planning for our KS2 children to return before the Easter holiday. The Minister for Education has outlined further plans for all Primary pupils to return after 15th March. This could change following data in the coming weeks. We are expecting a decision to be shared around the 11th March.

In an update before half term we shared the significant problem with the heating in the junior building. We are really pleased with the response from the Local Authority. The extensive repair work has started and we are expecting this to be completed within the time frame that will allow the children to return when it is announced by Welsh Government.

Please read the  letter from Councillor Merry, Cabinet Member for Education ,  we have been asked to share with all our families. The message is clear and integral to keeping everyone, children, parents/carers and staff safe as well as support the return to school for all of our children.  Please read the letter and follow what everyone needs to do.

There will be an update shortly about Dydd Gwyl Dewi, st David’s Day, Monday 1st March and our school celebrations.

Thank you for your continued support.

Stay safe and well!

Best wishes,
