Headteacher Letter 16.12.21

Dear Parents and Carers,

I have written a number of letters home to parents and carers over the past 7 years at Rumney Primary School and during the past 30+ years in other schools that I have had the privilege of working in, but this is without doubt the hardest of them all.

It is with a great deal of mixed emotions that I am sharing with you  that I have made the decision to retire at Easter. The Spring Term  will be my last term at RPS. I have had the most amazing experience at Rumney Primary School. All of our children make me extremely proud and I am sure they will all go on to do great things.

I have so many things to be grateful for. Despite the many challenges and in particular the current situation, I feel extremely lucky to have met and worked so closely with all the children, parents/carers and governors. Our children are the best and spending time with them, getting to know them, helping them and sharing in their successes – well there’s no better feeling! They make me smile and bring great joy to our school community.

In January the governors will be advertising for the new Headteaher. What a lucky Headteacher they will be! I am certain the governors will make the best decision for the children and staff.

I will continue to be the Headteacher of Rumney Primary School until the start of the Summer Term 2022 and alongside the governors, the Senior Leadership Team and yourselves we will continue to work hard to achieve the very best for all of our children and the wider school community..

I am looking forward to making more memories throughout the next term.

Thank you for your continued support. My very best wishes to you all,

Miss D. E Williams
